We always welcome visitors from India. India is a great country that makes up almost 20% of world’s population and is so diverse and colorful. We want more and more members from India to join us because we know that India is the next big online market for everything – including online business opportunities and home businesses.
We all know that the U.S leads the pack as of July ‘08 for the percentage of its population online (73.6%), the United States constitutes only 17% (and shrinking) of Web surfers worldwide. Where the major growth is occurring is in the world’s most populous countries, such as China, India, Brazil, Russia and Indonesia. In fact, the Asian continent ranks first worldwide for the number of Internet users—578 MILLION and growing. And they’re just getting started!
Having said this, the fact still remains that it still not very easy for an Indian to come on the Internet and start making money. There are many hurdles. One of the biggest is ability to transact online – using credit cards – this is because Credit Cards and their use online is still not very common in India. In fact over 90% of Indians don’t know what a credit card is. Only few who are in metropolitans and work for IT or similar advanced areas know what credit card is.
Evenif you have a credit card, you still fear whether you can use it online? One big question that bothers an average Indian is – can I use my credit card to buy online – especially if the item is sold in US dollars? will I get in any kind of trouble with RBI? Will I get any tax problems? - well … I have been using my ICICI Bank HP Visa card for purchases in US dollars online and offline for many years and have never come in any trouble so far. You can go and ask your tax consultant or anyone else that you trust and see what they say. As far as I know there is no problem.
Another big problem that Indians face when they try to venture online is – is it safe to use my credit card? will I get scammed if I try to use my credit card online? what if someone steals my credit card details and makes purchases of lacs of ruppees? … well … very valid concern. Straight answer is - YES you always run the risk of getting scammed or getting hacked. I myself was robbed of 18000 Rupees online where someone somehow got hold of my credit card details and charged the money. I called ICICI bank many times and sent many applications but they could not do anything. I did not want to get involved with police and the system because you know how it is in India right? I just had to let it go. I lost that money. But look at the bigger picture – if you are always afraid – there is no way you can do anything online. Second – there are always some safety measures you can use to safegourd yourself. I have used those and after that first incident nothing has happened for last 4 years or so. First thing is that you need to keep constant watch on your credit card statement. The moment you see some faud call the credit card provider and they will take necesary steps to block the card to avoid further fraudulent use. Second is always use a card with lower limit. So maximum impact on you is very little. Third and most important – always interact with trustworthy and well-known businesses. Don’t try your luck if you suspect that the company is not trust-worthy. The money making programs advertised on SignupForMoney are tried and tested and it is perfectly fine to trust your credit card details with them. These are the programs ideal for Indians. No need to worry.
If you want to avoid use of credit card directly on the Internet, go for PayPal. PayPal is a very safe and secured way and they allow Indians to open an account with them. It is safe and you will not get in any trouble with RBI or tax department or anyone else. Ofcourse you must have a credit card before you can use PayPal account for any kind of payments. If you don’t have an account get it here -PayPal account – personal account – choose country as India. Also note that PayPal is the best way to receive money from anyone in any currency. Best part is they can send you that money in Indian currency (evenif the original payment was received in US dollars or any other currency). This makes it very simple for you to deposit that money in your bank. They can directly deposit in most of the leading banks like ICICI etc.
Now the last question left in any Indian’s mind is - how will I get the money from all these companies? Can I receive payments in US dollars? How will I get the money finally in Indian Rupees and how much trouble is that? If I get the payment in US dollars check (cheque) what should I do with it? – again .. all are very valid questions and again the simplest answer to all these questions is – PayPal. I am telling you buddy, PayPal is the best thing that could happen to Indian online money seekers. It is the best and easiest way to send and receive money online for an Indian today. Many programs out there today send money to PayPal instead of sending you a check (cheque) in mail. In fact they prefer if you had PayPal account. It is very easy for them also. Another big advantage of PayPal is that you can hold the funds in your PayPal account and get one lumsum check (cheque) of substantial amount when you have enough funds. So again … if you have not done so already, get yourself a valid PayPal account and complete each and every step they want you to complete to establish your identity. It is well worth it. If however, you don’t want to use PayPal, ask these companies to send you a check and you can deposit it directly in your ICICI or similar bank. Every time you deposit a check you have to submit a specific form along with it. It usually take 20 – 30 days to actually see the money in your account. Also there are service charges and fees for this type of deposit.
